WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

 

Welcome to the 2008/2009 school year.  Our theme this year is taken from Jeremiah 9:23, 24 which tell us that the one thing WORTH BOASTING ABOUT is understanding and knowing the LORD.  Our prayer is that every student will come to understand these verses and be able to apply them to their own lives.  I am excited by the team of teachers that God has provided and continues to provide and who are seeking the constant balance that is necessary for us to be able to Educate for Eternity.

 

WELCOME TO OUR TEACHING STAFF

We thank God for all of our teachers who have come to serve at CCS this school year.   We welcome back our returning staff and we especially welcome the new teachers to CCS.  Without these faithful servants we could not have school as normal.  Following is a list of our teachers for this school year.   An asterisk by a name below indicates that the teacher/staff is new to CCS this year.   We especially thank Miss Snapp from Sucre who has volunteered to teach Grade 6 until Mrs. Murrin returns.

ANNUAL SCHOOL BARBECUE - 6  SEPTEMBER

Please mark the annual CCS School Barbecue on your calendar now.  It will be on Saturday, 6 September beginning at 12.00 Noon.    A slip will be sent home later with information about this.    We welcome you and your family for this kick-off event to the school year.

PLEASE PAY TUITION IN THE FINANCE OFFICE

Mr. Mario Bustillos is available daily in the finance office to receive school fees, issue receipts and facturas and to answer your questions regarding your bills.  The finance office will be open daily from   8:00 – 10:00 am and from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.

 

If you wish to make your payment directly to the school bank account, please call Mario who can tell you the bank account number.

 

DISCOUNT ON SCHOOL TUITION IF PAID BY 10 SEPTEMBER

We remind you that school tuition is due on the 10th of each month for those who pay monthly.  There will be a 5% discount for those who pay for the entire semester or year on or before the 10th of September.

 

SCHOOL CALENDAR PRINTED

All families should have received a school calendar in their registration packet.  We ask you to keep the calendar where you can refer to it frequently and also note the important dates listed on it for this semester. 

 

CCS PHONE CHAIN IS BEING PREPARED

The school is preparing a phone chain for contacting our school families in case there is a need to cancel school.   Please note the following:

 

COCHABAMBA DAY IS 14 SEPTEMBER, 

The first feriado for this year is on Monday the 15th of September, which is Cochabamba Day.   There will be no school on this day.  Students are expected to be back in school on Tuesday, 16 September.

MIKE WHEELER IS THE PARENT REPRESENTATIVE ON THE SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The parent representative to the CCS School Committee this year is Mike Wheeler.  If you have concerns or issues that the committee needs to address, please discuss this with Mr. Wheeler.   You may contact him at his home telephone  424-9929

 

HANDBOOK MATTERS
We would like to draw your attention to some of the items in our school handbook as a regular reminder.  Therefore we will attempt to include in every Chatter an item or two from the School Handbook to remind us about some of these important rules and policies for our school. 

 

·         Students in all grades and especially ALL the High School students should carefully read over the regulations regarding the Uniform Policy and the Demerit System. 

 

·         We are aware that there have been some problems with the provider of school uniforms, but from Monday, 25 August we expect all students to be in complete uniform and abide by the CCS dress code.  Clothes that are not made by the uniform provider are not allowed, even if the clothing item is the same color.  If, however, there is a legitimate excuse, parents should send a signed note to the office with the student explaining the reason that their child is not able to be in uniform for that day.

 

CHARGES FOR PRINTING

A fee will be charged to the student’s account for any papers, reports, or projects (intended to be printed at home) that are printed out at school using the school printers apart from in-class assignments.  Printers at school should be used by students only if special circumstances prevent them from printing reports/papers at home.

 

BUS NOTICES

If a student who rides the school bus wants to ride a different bus home, or if he wants to go home with another student in a taxi or car, they must have a signed notice from the parent giving them permission to do so.   Without a written notice, no changes will be allowed.  A telephone call by a parent is not sufficient to allow their child change the bus.  Written notices to change busses must be presented to the school bus coordinator by 10:00am. 

 

If you need to communicate with the bus drivers for any reason regarding the bussing, you may call or fax the school bus office at CCS and ask for Amparao Camacho.  The Fax/Tel number for the busses  is 4351282 .  If you must talk to the drivers after school hours, you may call Celular #  774 54733.   Please do not hesitate to call the bussing service if you have any questions or concerns.

 

If your child is NOT riding the busses and you have made other arrangements for the school year, please send us a note to explain the arrangements that you have made.  This notice only needs to be sent to the office ONCE at the beginning of the year, or updated if your situation changes during the year.  Parents please advise your children that they MUST use the pasarelas if they are crossing Blanco Galindo on their way to or from school.

 

INSURANCE NOTICE

We remind all families that children enrolled at CCS have 24-hour accident insurance from the beginning of school until the end of July, 2009.   Our provider is Alianza. (ALIANZA DE SEGUROS NIT 1020351029)    Students will be issued their carnet soon.   Returning students can use their old carnets until new ones are issued.   If an accident occurs, the school must be informed and the carnet must be shown when treatment is required.  Details of the insurance policy are available from the school secretary. 

 

AFTER SCHOOL SUPERVISION NOTICE
Parents, we do not have staff who can monitor children after school is over for the day.  It is the parents´ responsibility to watch their children while waiting for older siblings to finish an after school activity.    Please emphasize that school rules for playground use are still in affect after school.   Keep in mind that your children must be under supervision and the school can not take responsibility for accidents or injuries.  Thank you for understanding and your cooperation.

MENSAJE DE BIENVENIDA DEL DIRECTOR

Bienvenidos a la gestión escolar 2008/2009.  Nuestro lema para este año lo hemos tomado de Jeremías 9: 23, 24 el cual nos dice que aquello por lo que debemos estar orgullosos de que valga la pena es el entender y conocer al SEÑOR.  Nuestra oración es que cada alumno llegue al entendimiento de estos versos y que sea capaz de aplicarlos en sus propias vidas.  Estoy emocionado por el quipo de maestros que Dios nos ha provisto y continua proveyendo y a quienes están buscando el constante balance que es necesario para nosotros para poder EDUCAR para la Eternidad.

 

BIENVENIDA A NUESTROS MAESTROS

Agradecemos a Dios por todos los maestros que han llegado a servir en el CCS este año.  Damos la bienvenida de retorno a los maestros antiguos y damos una especial bienvenida a los maestros nuevos en el CCS.  Sin estos fieles siervos no hubiéramos tenido un colegio como normalmente se espera.  A continuación la lista de maestros para este año.  El asterisco cerca del nombre indica que el maestro es nuevo en el CCS este año.  Especialmente damos gracias a la Srta. Sarah Snapp de Sucre que se ha ofrecido de voluntaria para enseñar en el grado 6 hasta que la Sra. Murrin retorne.

PARRILLADA ANUAL – 6 DE SEPTIEMBRE

Por favor marque la parrillada anual en su calendario desde ahora.  Será el 6 de septiembre a partir de las 12:00.  Mandaremos una nota a la casa con la información concerniente a la misma.  Les damos la bienvenida a usted y su familia para éste gran evento en el colegio.

POR FAVOR CANCELE SUS PENSIONES EN LAS OFICINAS DE CONTABILIDAD.

El Sr. Mario Bustillos estará disponible  a diario en la oficina de contabilidad para recibir las pensiones, se le extenderá su factura y él podrá responder a sus preguntas con respecto a su cuenta personal.  La oficina estará abierta todos los días a partir de las  8:00 – 13:00 y de 14:00 – 16:00.

 

Si desea hacer sus depósitos en la cuenta bancaria, llamar a Mario para tomar nota del número de la cuenta.  

 

RECIBA DESCUENTO EN LAS PENSIONES HASTA EL 10 DE SEPTIEMBRE.

Les recordamos que la fecha límite para pagar las pensiones es el 10 de cada mes para quienes pagan mensualmente.  Para quienes paguen por el semestre recibirán un 5% de descuento si lo hacen hasta el 10 de septiembre.

 

CALENDARIO ESCOLAR.

Todas las familias han recibido un calendario junto a su paquete de inscripción.  Les pedimos que ponga su calendario en un lugar donde pueda verlos con frecuencia para ver las fechas importantes para éste semestre.

 

CADENA TELEFONICA PREPARADA.

En el colegio estamos preparando una cadena telefónica  para poder contactar a la s familias en caso de llegar a cancelar las clases.  Por favor tome nota de lo siguiente:

 

DIA DE COCHABAMBA  EL 14 DE SEPTIEMBRE.

El primer feriado para éste año es el lunes 15 de septiembre, que es al aniversario de Cochabamba.  No tendremos clases este día.  Los alumnos deben estar en clases el martes 16 de septiembre.

EL SEÑOR MIKE WHEELER ES EL REPRESENTATE DE LOS PADRES DE FAMILIA ANTE EL COMITÉ DEL COLEGIO.

El representante de los padres de familia ante el Comité del Colegio este año es el Sr. Mike Wheeler.  Si usted tiene quejas o temas que se debe entregar al Comité, por favor comente con el Sr. Wheeler.  Usted puede contactarse con él en el teléfono 4249929.

 

ASUNTOS DEL MANUAL DEL ALUMNO.
Quisiéramos dirigir su atención a algunos puntos en nuestro Manual del Alumno como un recordatorio regular.  Sin embargo agregaremos intentaremos incluir en el Chatter uno o dos párrafos del Manual del Alumno para recordarles algunos de estos puntos importantes de las reglas y políticas de nuestro colegio.
