  MATH

  • 1) 5 minute timed addition sheet (taken home).
  • 2) http://www.ixl.com/math/practice/grade-2-symmetry try this little quiz on symmetry! (there is also a CONGRUENT quiz on this site, try that one too!)
  • 3) Draw four objects: two with symmetry (show the line of symmetry) and two without symmetry.

Language Arts

  • 1) Read the story Tikki Tikki Tembo on page 64 of the reader Tail of a Kite.
  • 2) Fill out the story map (taken home). You only need to fill out the map once, if you have a two-sided sheet, only do one side.
  • 3) Answer these five questions on a separate sheet of paper:
  • 1. Why did Tikki Tikki Tembo have such a long name?
  • 2. What does his name mean (pg. 66)?
  • 3. How do think Tikki Tikki Tembo felt about his name?
  • 4. There is a pattern in this story. What is it?
  • 5. What do you think the author wrote this story? Or, what is the author's purpose, or the message, that this story gives?
