Paro Work for Monday (20 May 2013)Reminder: Turn in Community Service FormsBIBLE ENGLISH Read Act 5 scene 1. There may or may not be a quiz when you get back on what you have read. SOCIALS Send me your research on your historical person for the Facebook project. Be sure you're just filling in the information on the worksheet from last week. Once I've told you that it's all perfect you may create a page, you can follow these directions to do so https://www.facebook.com/help/104002523024878. Do not create a new "personality" like your current FB page, it should be more of a "fan page". Remember, your Muslim Empires test will be the first day we are back in classes! ALSO, ALL LATE WORK IS DUE TO ME BY THIS FRIDAY! SCIENCE Please read section 15.3 in your book, and answer the questions on page 480: Page 480 1 to 9 all, 10, 13 14 Do this in your cuaderno or on a separate paper and have ready to hand in the next time we have class. MUSIC The Battle of the Bands will be postponed by a few days, probably until Wednesday-Friday of next week (Wednesday for grades 7/8, Thursday 9/10, Friday 11/12). This will be confirmed on Monday if we have school. Meanwhile, you should be working on the second part of your project, which will be to present your band in a "business presentation" during class on May 22nd-24th, to try to convince Mrs. Vasquez to become your band's agent. You can be emailing or talking to each other about your band name, CD cover/fake song titles on the back, fake "biographies" on each member, band vision statement (what kind of art you make and with what purpose), and any other fun information you want to include about your band. You can either bring a "folder/portfolio" with printed items, or you may choose to do a Powerpoint type presentation of your band. Please now read the section on the Life Cycle of the Stars, section 15.2. Remember that these ideas presented in this book are from a secular viewpoint and that Scripture maintains that God created the stars with their own glory in a single day. The Bible does not allow for such long time frames for evolution of stars as the book maintains. (1 Cor 15, Genesis 1) While the ideas are the best that secular thought can manage without an understanding of God’s truth, the truth regarding their creation, their development and their ongoing maintenance is found in the Holy Scriptures. We will still be taking our Muslim Empires test the first day that we are back in classes, so be ready! In the meantime, we are going to move onto our next project which is attached - I will send an email to all of you today and you can tell me which leader you are going to do your project on, so be sure to check your email!. Read Genesis 16 and be ready to discuss what law(s) were broken (according to the culture of the day). SCIENCE On Thursday we will have a quiz on the sun, the four inner planets (M V E M) and the moon. Quiz will be from your reading handouts. Be reading the rest of the planets from your readings and also be reading chapter 15 in your text. Do as much as possible make sure to use calculators. Reminder for first problems:You are finding an angle. If you don't get the first ones, no worries the rest should be easy. This counts as a quiz.
